Zero - Clod Ensemble
"Clark’s score for Zero is an exhilarating bluesy collage, performed live with singer Hazel Holder and the veteran bluesman Johnny Mars." The Guardian

"... Singers Johnny Mars and Hazel Holder provide stunning vocal accompaniment to a five-piece band performing catchy, compelling songs and thrilling music throughout." The Stage

"... It’s a show that is driven by its music score, composed by Clod’s Paul Clark and played by a blues and jazz band of seven musicians and vocalists. Atmospheric and vibrant, each track that is played resonates with emotion, whether joyful or melancholic. Singer and harmonica player Johnny Mars influences the fluctuating emotional terrain of Zero as does the rich, soulful voice of Hazel Holder." London Dance (.com)

Dalston Songs - Helen Chadwick Sing Theatre
"Dalston Songs is inspired by the stories of Helen Chadwick’s diverse neighbours and concerns the notion of home. It is sung a cappella by Chadwick, Hazel Holder and Melanie Pappenheim, who have some fun with harmony and intonation.... Photos of London’s Dalston taken by Holder and John Lloyd Davies are projected behind them, giving an extra flavour of the place they all call home." The Stage

The Shout

The Shout was formed in 1998 by the composers Orlando Gough and Richard Chew. The singers come from very varied backgrounds – gospel, jazz, blues, contemporary classical, opera, early music – and include several accomplished improvisers. It has been called a ‘vocal big band’, a ‘club choir’, a ‘vocal Stomp’, a ‘dangerous choir’, a ‘choir of Babel’ and a ‘choral phenomenon’.
